Hey, where’d you get that picture of my sink?
Never Fail Cure For Boredom
Posted by Rebecca Teti in Family on Saturday, August 09, 2008 1:23 PM
We have an adventure with cousins planned for a little later, but the waiting is not going well.
Child who-shall-remain-nameless, whining: Mom, I’m booooored.
Me (merciless): I have some chores you can help me with.
Child (perking up): I’m not bored at all!
It’s like magic.
(For the record, that’s not my sink.)

My sink used to look like that when my kids were little. Thank goodness it never gets that bad anymore. That sink is in desperate need of FLYWASHING!! It’s screaming “Shine Me! Shine Me!” Isn’t it amazing how bored kids become unbored when chores are mentioned ?
Hanging above my kitchen sink:
Thank God for dirty dishes,
They have a lot to tell,
While other folks go hungry,
We are so very well.
With home and health and happiness,
We shouldn’t want to fuss.
For by this stack of evidence,
God’s very good to us.
That, my Catholic sister, is the best piece of parenting wisdom anyone has shared with me in a long, long time. Filing that away in my head for the next time I hear the B word.
It could be my sink on just about any given day.
This is one of the best I’ve recently read, interesting and very informative, I appreciate you work. Thank you.
