Pope Benedict XVI Visits France
Posted by Lisa Hendey in News on Saturday, September 13, 2008 6:00 PM
Yesterday marked the first day of Pope Benedict XVI’s journey to France to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lourdes.
Catholic News Service offered an account of the Pope’s encouraging visit at the Cathedral of Notre Dame here. I was moved by the following comments, made by the Pope to the young people of Paris who had flocked to the exterior of the Cathedral to see him:
“Always cultivate a thirst for the word of God. Thus you will learn to love everyone you meet along life’s journey. In the church, everyone has a place, everyone.”
EWTN will be offering live coverage of Pope Benedict XVI’s apostolic journey on their website. Watching these special addresses and masses unfold brings back wonderful memories of his recent visit to the United States and should be a great way to observe this special anniversary year.
UPDATE: Check out great photos and video at our sister site Pope2008.com too!
