Weird Friday Soup Dream

What could this dream possibly mean and what would you bring?

Out here in California, I was awoken this morning by the strangest dream.

It was one of those vivid dreams, where you remember every detail.  I keep a notebook by my bed for just such occasions, as I’m a frequent dreamer.

In my dream, my doorbell rang and when I answered it I was shocked to see Arwen and Camilla.  Arwen informed me that Danielle had come up with the idea for all the Faith and Family Live bloggers to gather at my house, with kids but no spouses, to make soup.  Each was invited to bring an ingredient for the soup.

In true Stone Soup fashion, the whole team showed up one by one - Rachel and her five rowdy boys, then Rebecca and her four adorable kids.  The last to arrive were Danielle and her tribe who found me trying to hastily pick up my house and find a pot large enough to make that much soup!!!

Just as my alarm was waking me to rouse me from this dream, the doorbell rang again and we all looked at one another, trying to guess who it might be.

Was it you, and what were you bringing to put in my soup?

You’re doing a lot of good things, and you don’t want to lose any of those things. You are glad to have friends who bring so much to your life, but you don’t think you can handle it all.

(You’re also overdue for a date night!)

I’m not a shrink, but I listen to Dr. Laura a lot. How’d I do?

It’s predictable, but I’m going with homemade chicken stock.  Good chicken stock gives you a head start on great soup!

Isn’t it strange and funny when people you know but have never met in person show up in your dreams?  Other bloggers show up in my dreams all the time!

I hope Camilla was well-behaved.  wink

Oh! I forgot to tell you! I’m bringing a basket of garlic braead, and hot rolls for the people who don’t like garlic bread (poor things!)

Yum, we’re off to a good start!!  But the soup seems a little bland…

And Arwen, thanks for homemade stock - it’s way better than the canned stuff!!

I love this!

I think your dream means only that you are dying to invite all of us to your house for an extended California vacation. Next February will work great for me and the kids ...

Danielle - you would love it… it was all your idea!  LOL!
The Bean crew is welcome any time!! You can even bring Dad too!  We have an open door policy around here.  Seriously, I think I had this dream because your emails were the last thing I read before going to sleep last night.  I must have been secretly wishing my buddies lived closer so that we could all get together.  I guess I’ll have to make due with electronic hugs for a while!

Whatever it was, I’m sure we were willing to do the chopping and dicing—my boys love to use knives!

--wishing we could really all gather in California…

I’ll bring the home-grown tomatoes --probably just picked the last for the season.

Strange… in my dream, I was invited to come and do a blessing over the food—and then I was asked to leave! what gives? D.T.
