Reader Aileen shares this photo of what she found after bedtime at her house last night.
If little boys are sharing their Lego men with her, Mary must be doing something right. I’m pretty sure she treasures these tokens of affection in a special way.

That reminds me.... During the month of May, the kids at our Catholic school are invited to bring flowers to put in a vase before a statue of Mary. The little kids playing outside during recess pick dandelions and carefully arrange them in the vase or as a crown on her head. While some may think these “weeds” aren’t appropriate to use in this manner, I think every mother (including our Mother, Mary) is delighted to receive a sweet dandelion bouquet!
This bought tears to my eyes. I wish I could enlarge the picture into a poster and hang this one up. What a beautiful thing to meditate on- giving our Blessed Mother honor by sharing with her what we love the best.
Melissa, that same thought popped into my head when I saw the picture. I would love a poster of it as well.
That made my day! So precious.
My own toddler son has been known to play with the Mary from his Nativity Set ... I once found her sitting in his toy car, as if going for a ride (check out the above website/blog for the photo).
It’s great to give our kids exposure to Jesus, Mary, the saints ... I think it helps our children feel confident that these holy people are their friends and advocates.
Thanks for the smile!
I love this picture! How sweet!
