I just want to mention a new vocation book just published by the Association of U.S. Dominican Nuns this year. “Vocation in Black and White: Contemplative Dominican Nuns Tell how God called them” gathers together 23 vocation stories from nuns living today in American Dominican monasteries. It addresses the most frequently asked question a cloistered nun hears, “Why did you decide to become a nun?” The accounts are quite varied, written by women from four different generations. The stories span seven decades. “Vocation in Black and White” is available from Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble.com, and other major online bookstores.
